Life path number calculator

Every birth date hides a number, the road you came here to walk. Give me the day you were born and I'll show you yours, and the arithmetic, so you never have to take my word for it.

Nothing is saved or sent. The math runs on your phone.

How the salon counts

Write your birth date as digits and add every digit together: year, month and day, all at once. Then add the digits of that total, and keep going until a single number remains. Born April 17, 1991? That's 1 + 9 + 9 + 1 + 4 + 1 + 7 = 32, and 3 + 2 = 5. A five.

There's one exception. If a total lands on 11, 22 or 33 along the way, I stop and keep it. Those are the master numbers, and they carry their own weight. That means a total of 29 becomes 2 + 9 = 11, and stays there.

Some books reduce the month, the day and the year separately before adding them. That can land you on a different number, especially a master number, which is why two websites sometimes disagree. I add every digit at once, the same way your free reading and every paid reading in this salon do, so the number you find here is the number you'll see there.

The twelve roads

Each number is a temperament more than a fate: the way you tend to love, work, hide and give. Pick yours, or read the ones that belong to the people you love.

Your own chart

Your number is one of three doors.

Give me your birth date and I'll read your sign, your life path number and the card that keeps finding you, together, in a few seconds. The first reading is free.

If one question keeps sitting on your chest, bring it to the Three-Card Question: what you asked, what you want under it, and what yes and no each cost. It opens on screen.

Your number and your sign

Your life path is the road. Your sun sign is the way you walk it. A seven born under Aries searches with a lit torch; a seven born under Pisces searches with the lamp turned low. Every life path page shows how that number meets fire, earth, air and water signs, so you can read the two together.

Questions about life path numbers

What is a life path number?

In numerology, your life path number comes from your full birth date. It is read as the main theme of your life: your nature, your lessons and your gifts. It is a tool for reflection, not a prediction.

How do I calculate my life path number?

Add every digit of your birth date together, then add the digits of the total until one number is left. Keep 11, 22 or 33 if a total lands on one of them. The calculator above shows every step.

What are master numbers?

11, 22 and 33. When your birth-date digits add up to one of them, numerology tradition keeps the double number instead of reducing it, because it carries a stronger version of its root number: 11 of 2, 22 of 4, and 33 of 6.

Why does another site give me a different number?

Some methods reduce the month, day and year separately first. Most of the time the answer matches, but master numbers can appear or disappear. This salon adds every digit at once, the same way all of its readings do.

Which life path number is the rarest?

With this method, 2 and 22 are the least common, each under 3 in every 100 birth dates between 1940 and 2009, because most totals that could become 2 stop at 11 first. Ones, threes, fives, sevens, eights and nines are the most common, about 11 in every 100 each.

Before you go

Now let me read you.

A number on its own is a sketch. Your free reading puts it beside your sun sign and your card, so you can see how they pull on each other. When you want the whole of it, the Blueprint ($24) reads your sign, your life path and your 2027 personal year in one place.
